The gloom was extra gloomy this morning with a light drizzle. Cool weather cloudy skies and just all around…. Gloomy! But it didn’t stop us.

WARMUP:

THE THANG:
We rucked around the park stopping at the 10-minute mark, the 20 minute mark, and then finished at the 30 minute mark back at the flag.

Each time we stop, we completed the following:
– 10 Merkins
– 20 Squats
– 30 sec hold of Al Gores

COT:
A great discussion for 30-4-30 this morning. Sharing the topic below for details but there were a lot of great points made and thoughts shared on the topic of fatherhood parenting and just manhood in general. Highly recommend taking the time to either read the excerpt that leg shared or pick up your copy and read it all.

“We pulled from this great book I read this past month called The Intentional Father by Jon Tyson.
In Chapter 8, he talks about five shifts that happen in a young boy’s transition to manhood, and how you can help the boy navigate each of these shifts. The 5 shifts are:
1. From ease to difficulty
2. From self to others
3. From the whole story to part of the story
4. From control to surrender
5. From temporary to eternal

And now for the actual question:
“Of these shifts listed here, which ones have been natural for you and which ones have been more difficult for you and why? Follow up: If you are a father to a son, which of these do you see as the most difficult to help him navigate (or were difficult to navigate)?””
