With plans to co-Q this 2nd annual mental health workout with Flo, plans changed very last minute. Flo, unable to attend due to sick kids, the Q fell to Forest Gump for the entire workout. YHC finished planning the workout about 30 minutes before start time.

The Thang:

Part 1:

Each PAX given their own exercise to complete, OYO. Merkins – 25; Smurf Jacks – 30; Shoulder Taps – 50. This exercise represents the challenges we face as men and how it seems like we are doing the hard things alone, while everyone else is going through their own hard time.

Part 2: Quarter Pounder

Lining up on one end of the field, 3 PAX complete same exercises but OYO. Representing that we all battle similar things in life, but sometimes we are trying to battle on our own.

Sprint 25 yards, complete 25 Merkins, run backward to start

Sprint 50 yards, complete 50 Squats, run backward to start

Sprint 75 yards, complete 75 Mountain Climbers, run backward to start

Spring 100 yards, complete 100 SSH, run backward to start

Part 3: Sandbag Brigade + Circle Burps with the sandbag

Representing each man needs other men in their life to help with the struggles we all face and that we can’t do it alone.

3 PAX lined up on the stairs to pass the 60lb sandbag up to the top, then back down again. Next round was with the 80lb sandbag. 3 rounds total.

Circle Burp with sandbag – “circle” up, pass the sandbag, once passed, complete burpee, grab sandbag, pass again, complete burpee, etc. etc. Completed this for approximately 4 minutes

Round 4: 

Blockees: all together completing 25 reps, spurring each other on to keep going strong after the already difficult work put in by each PAX


American Hammers – 20 (IC)


Coupon and family continue to press on during challenging times. Learning to work through difficulties of finding new counselors as counselors continue to move away.

Bunsen closed us out with a poem from Rudyard Kipling titled, “If”. Beautiful poem. Bunsen shared the struggles with his son they are experiencing, asking for prayer.
