The BackBlast:

Intro:

It’s been just over a year of beatdowns at The Swanson and today’s beatdown marked The Shovel Flag Handoff from Go Blue! to Forest Gump. A Co-Q was in order. Go Blue! started things off with WOR and part 1 of The Thang while Forest Gump took the PAX home for the rest of the work.

Warm-o-Rama:

  • Googan lap*
  • Captain Callout
    • SSH, Mummy Dance, Jog, High Knees, Butt Kickers, Jog, Sprint, Jog. Repeat 2 rounds and finish with a Cabbage Patch callout.
  • String Rippers, x15 IC
  • Abe Vigoda**, x10 IC
  • Sun Gods, x 10 IC (fwd/rev, small/big)
  • Monkey Humpers, x15 IC

The Thang:

  1. 1st & 10***
    • 100 yards marked off every 10 yards. PAX performed 10 merkins and 1 burpee at the 10, sprint 90 yards to other goal line, mosey back to 20 for 9 merkins and 2 burpees. Sprint to other goal line, mosey back to 30 for 8 merkins and 3 burpees. Yada yada yada all the way to the 1 merkin and 10 burpees.
  2. Take me OUT of the ball game.
    • Round 1 – Single file, PAX ran the bases while the PAX in front ran to the Pitchers Mound to complete 5 Burpees. When Burpees are completed PAX runs to the back of the line, allowing the next PAX in front to head to the Pitchers Mound until all PAX completed Burpees.
    • Round 2 – Bear Crawl while PAX in the front runs to Pitchers Mound for 10 Burpees.***
    • Round 3 – Crab Walk, etc.

  • It was a privledge to have Tortuga from F3 Wheaton with us today, as well as our FNG (El Fuego) from the Bay Area. You’re welcome any time!

Naked Man Moleskin:

* Googan rolled in extra hot and late for this one, entirely missing the Googan lap.

** YHC realized part way through he really meant windmills when Tortuga commented that it was the youngest and fastest Abe Vigoda he’s ever seen.

*** YHC purposely set up the yard lines going right through the sprinkers hoping for some excitement, but alas, the sprinkers did not come on 🙁

*** Lots of mumble chatter and whining about Burpees, so Q added 5 more, which rendered some exhaustion for all PAX doing Bear Crawl while Burpees were completed.

***Ditka suggested 40, so Q went with it.
