A glorious, brisk morning was upon the legendary site of Abduction and the parking lot was STACKED with cars as multiple regions and PAX were in full force to celebrate 5 years of F3 in Fort Collins. Since our launch the front range has seen the number of regions over than double to 7 regions! Truly remarkable and the Q’s knew the gravity of bringing the A-game to make these men work to earn their participation points today!
WARMUP:
Go Blue! started the festivities with a short mosey through the park to an open field where PAX circled up. First up: Captain Call-out! PAX performed the exercise called until the next round:
– SSH, jog in place, high knees, butt kickers, mountain climbers, sprint in place. Repeated cycle 3 times
An invitation was made for PAX volunteers to lead an exercise:
– Dirty dogs x 15IC
– Flutter kicks x15 IC
– A crowd favorite: “Regular-ass” Merkins x 20 IC
– Monkey humpers x 15IC
A song and dance routine was up next: Thunderstruck (a Fort Collins collective groaner when it is announced, so it’s amazing!). SSH through the songe, burpee when “thunder” or “thunderstruck” is heard. All was well through 1:30 of the song when Bluetooth issues cut the music! Go Blue! figured the timing was right, as PAX were plenty warmed up, so the call was made to mosey back to the flag to hand off Q duties for The Thang!
THE THANG:
Bunsen brought a plethora of sandbags to the middle of a PAX circle with a plan: leg work in the middle, in a tribute to our Nantan Flo, call-out exercises as tribute to one of our Redwoods, Go Blue! (who LOVES Captain Call-out…obviously!). The premise of the work was as follows:
– 4 PAX to the middle: 2 as PAX A and 2 as PAX B
– PAX A to perform 10 x bear hug sb squats (5 for the past 5 years and 5 more for…5 more years!). Prescribed weight was 80 lbs, but PAX were encouraged to modify as necessary with other weight (or no weight!). All other PAX work until 10 squats achieved
– PAX B perform a Bear Complex (sb power clean to OH press to squat to OH press to drop weight)
– Remaining PAX perform call out work until PAX A completes 10 reps of squats
– PAX A returns to circle, PAX B moves to PAX A, and 2 more PAX enter circle
– Call-out exercises were as follows: burpees, 8-count body builders, merkins, flutter kicks, Freddie Mercuries, SSH, Werkins, Carolina Dry Docks, Chuck Norris Merkins, hold plank high, side plank left, side plank right, hold plank low, merkins, burpees, LBCs, SSH, merkins
PAX were then called to pair up and line-up at the flags. PAX A to sprint across field to side walk (~100 yards, perhaps) and back. PAX B to perform merkins until PAX A returned. Flapjack. Repeated 3x.
Bunsen then handed off to Flo for the final Q workout!
PAX made a circle facing outward. Performed Circle Burp with ~ 5 sandbags of various weight. As SB is passed to PAX, continue to pass to the right and perform a burpee. This continued for some time. Then Mary…
MARY:

Several PAX shared their heart. It was truly moving and it reminded YHC how close we have become. Beautiful to see the friendship! All were invited to stay for grub, coffee, and Hooverball!!!
