The madness of March is upon us! YHC felt the need to continue the annual tradition of an F3 exercise bracket, done in March Madness style to see who the 2024 champ would be! And to see if anyone has been practicing their free throws.

A mosey around the bball courts, followed by
SSH x15 IC
Baseline to baseline high knees x2
Baseline to baseline butt kicks x2
Half court shuffle (sprint, side, back, side) x3

16 exercises were laid out in a 16-team March Madness style bracket. The seed indicates the number of reps of that exercise. After a game was played (i.e. exercises performed by all PAX), 4 PAX shot a free throw (switching the 4 on each game). In the first round, if ANYONE made it, the lower seed wins and moves on to the next round, else the higher seed moves on. To YHCs surprise, the PAX were bagging their free throws, so we decided to switch it up in following rounds to move the higher seed on if a basket was made. At Downhill’s wonderful suggestion, if an air ball occurred (and there were plenty) that PAX owed a penalty burpee. While waiting for free throws, the PAX held Normal plank, side plank, or Al Gore.

After the first round of games, the PAX did a suicide run on the b-ball court, with increasing reps of the designated exercise at each trip to the baseline. This “fun” was skipped on rounds 2-4 due to time.

Suicide reps:

Free throw line and back, 4 reps.
Half line and back, 8 reps
Opposite free throw line and back, 12 reps
Full court and back, 16 reps

Suicide exercises:

Round 1 = Bobby Hurleys (couldn’t feel my legs after this one :/)
Round 2 = Merkins
Round 3 = Wojo Squats
Round 4 = Monkey Humpers
(Audible – Suicides for rounds 2-4 were skipped due to time)

AND THE WINNER IS….. Top seed 100m sprint!

Whiskey and western this Friday! Book club discussion April 4. Check slack for details.

YHC led out with excerpts from one of the best college basketball speeches of all time, Jimmy V’s 1993 Espy speech, “Don’t ever give up”. Great speech that makes you laugh, makes you think, and makes you cry (or at least be emotional) – three things Jimmy V says you should strive for in every day. Have a listen.
