COT: The Weight We Carry
Since today’s workout, the 2 Mile Medley, focused on different ways to carry a ruck, shuffling, overhead, bearhugs, and farmer’s carries, it serves as a perfect physical metaphor for the “rucks” we carry in our daily lives.
The Discussion:
In this workout, the weight never changed, but how you carried it did. Sometimes you held it overhead where everyone could see the struggle; other times, you held it in a bear hug, keeping it close to your chest.
• The Overhead Carry: This represents the visible burdens—the stresses at work or the roles we play where we have to stay upright and strong for others to see.
• The Bearhug: This represents the internal weights—the anxieties, personal struggles, or private “missions” to grow and lead that we keep close to our hearts.
• The Farmer’s Carry: This is the grind. It’s the day-to-day discipline of planting and growing community leadership, even when one side feels heavier than the other.
The Challenge: Identify which “carry” you are in right now. Are you struggling with a visible burden, or are you bear-hugging a private struggle? The Mission of F3 is to invigorate male community leadership. Leadership doesn’t mean carrying the weight alone; it means having the courage to stay in the “Circle of Trust” and share the load when the shuffle becomes too much.
