The BackBlast:

Intro:

A few Pax rolled in hot from an EC ruck and YHC was a little taken aback by the SOLID turnout for Abduction. Also, there was an unfamiliar face amongst PAX sporting F3 gear. With a visitor, YHC knew he needed to step up his game. A quick audible was made, and Pax was  instructed to hold plank through the intro, mission, and disclaimers. Lots of mumble chatter* IMMEDIATELY kicked in, so YHC needed to S-L-O-W-L-Y keep his concentration…

Warm-o-Rama:

With sufficient groans, we kicked off a mosey to…the pull-up bars. 4 PAX at a time were called out for 4 pull-ups while remaining Pax held plank. After all Pax  we moseyed to the side field for:

Copperhead Squats IC x 15

Sun Gods IC x 15, hold, reverse IC x 15, hold

Seal Claps IC x 10, hold

Chinooks IC x 7, hold, reverse IC x 7**

Mosey to the main field, where PAX noticed a staple of a Q from YHC…cones.

The Thang:

Part 1: 5 Cones***

A middle HUB cone with 4 cones ~15 yards away fanning in a semi-circle. YHC knew a few FNGs may be present, so the theme was to introduce the 5 core principles. 3 Exercises were listed at each cone, each of which were to be completed with the reps designated by the round (Round 1 – 20, Round 2 – 15), except #5 (HUB cone), in which each exercise had 10 reps. PAX was split into 4 groups. Each group ran to a cone, performed set, returned to HUB cone, completed set, and proceeded to next numbered cone. Complete 2 rounds.

#1 – Workouts are free – Burpees, Mountain Climbers, High Flutter Kicks

#2 – Open to all men – Bonnie Blairs, The Bruce Merkins, Freddie Mercuries

#3 – Held Outdoors rain/shine, hot/cold – Carolina Dry Docks, Peter Parker, Dancing Bears

#4 – Led by men in rotating fashion with no training necessary – Monkey Humpers****, Twinkle Toes, BBSU

#5 – End with a Circle of Trust – Hillbilly Squats, Shoulder Taps, Crunchy Frogs

Part 2:

Catch Me If You Can

PAX partnered up. PAX A performed 10 reps of exercise while PAX B ran backwards. As soon as PAX A finished, sprinted to catch PAX B. Flapjack across field. Across the field – Merkins. Return – Squats.

Several PAX openly shared family members or close friends, who are struggling and need lots of #TAPS. YHC closed group out giving thanks to the fine day, amazing warrior men who are strong enough to be HIMs, and sending prayers to our family and friends for the extra blessings needed in these challenging days. It was an honor to lead you today and the PAX made YHC a better man. YHC hopes to have returned the favor! AYE!
