We discussed the relationship between suffering and salvation. The importance of preserving our own dignity and divinity as a shield against the darkest times in life and the importance of fostering the dignity of those around us. The importance of acceptance of where God has placed us rather than holding on pridefully to unearned or irrelevant status. We also leaned into the importance of community and the fact that no one survived the Gulags or any dark period in life alone.
