Intro:

YHC was forced to miss The Swanson last week when his 2.3 woke up right at the time needed to leave the house to make it; as a result, a follow-up thrashing was required. After tales of this past Saturday’s “Murph” and Monday’s focus on Arms and Legs1, cries for “Mercy” were sent into the Ether; YHC opted for mercy, and pulled together a solid beatdown that elevated heart rates and pushed PAX to their Merlot-Splashing Limits.

YHC rolled in to see Go Blue! take off for a Mile Run2, and chatted up the PAX who braved the brisk temperatures. At 0530, disclaimer was disclaimed, and off we went, circling the parking lot to pick up Googan before stopping for…

Warm-o-Rama:

The Thang:

At the parking lot just south of the Baseball fields, YHC dished out the Burpee/Curbpee combo, as follows:

  • Run up parking lot line to curb
  • Do a Curbpee
  • Shuffle Left
  • Run backwards down parking lot line
  • Do a Burpee
  • Shuffle Left

etc.

YHC picked this up from Wicked back in Greensboro, NC and it was just as much of a destroyer now as it was back then.  After traveling the length of the parking lot, we went backwards and arrived at our starting point. We then moseyed to the Baseball Fields, where we performed some Station work:

  • Station A (bottom of the hill)
    • 20 Merkins
    • 15 Carolina Dry Docks
    • 20 Catalina Wine Mixers (no Merkins)
    • Run up Hill to Station B
  • Station B (top of the hill)
    • 20 Bonnie Blairs
    • 20 BBSU
    • 20 Flutter Kicks (IC)
    • Run down hill to Station A

Rinse and Repeat.

All together, the PAX put in roughly three rounds of this before time was called and we moseyed back to the #shovelFlag.

6MoM:

As we like to say here in Fort Collins5, “We don’t care what you can do fresh,” and that was no more true today than any other, so YHC put on the song “Unstoppable” by Red6, and did as follows:

  • During song, perform Imperial Walkers
  • Every time you hear “Unstoppable”, perform a Burpee7.

After this, we ended our 6MoM with…

  • LSF x 20 (IC)
  • American Hammer x 20 (IC)8

COT:

  • #TAP for ExciteBike as he works through home-life balance.

YHC took us out.

Naked Man Moleskin:

  1. Less Legs, more Arms, but definitely dangerous…
  2. Go Blue! ended up needing to do an Orgasm Lap, as he ended his “Mile Run” at 0.94 miles, and wanted to be able to say he got in a “full Mile.”
  3. YHC nearly threw out his shoulder for some reason on the first exercise; grateful it didn’t elevate into something worse.
  4. There’s something to be said about starting slow and working your way into a workout; unfortunately, YHC did NOT do that today, and was already scrambling to catch his breath by Merkin 15. #fakeItTilYouMakeIt.
  5. This isn’t exclusive to Fort Collins; pretty sure “they” say this elsewhere as well…
  6. Anything by Red is an excellent listen.
  7. For the record, there are 26 Burpees for this song.
  8. MeThinks the PAX may have been a tad smoked after this workout, considering how long they stayed on the ground post Endex.
